Ozan & Ang
We want to express our deepest gratitude for considering us as potential parents. Words cannot fully convey our appreciation for the opportunity to get to know you and for the possibility of raising a little one. We understand the immense strength and love it takes to make this life-altering decision, and we honor you for putting the child's needs first. Please know that we are here to support you in every way, both during and after this process.
Our Family Traditions

One of our favorite traditions is traveling to national parks across the U.S. These trips allow us to disconnect from daily life and reconnect with nature. Whether hiking in Acadia, marveling at Yellowstone’s geothermal wonders, or watching wildlife in Grand Teton, each trip leaves us feeling refreshed and grounded. We’re proud members of the National Park Annual Pass program and can’t wait to share these experiences with a child, introducing them to the Junior Ranger Program. Watching kids take the Junior Ranger Oath has been special for us, and we look forward to sharing that excitement. In addition to our outdoor adventures, we’ve created small but meaningful traditions at home. We have a Gratitude Jar, which is a pumpkin-shaped jar where we add written notes of things we’re thankful for. It’s a reminder of life’s blessings, and we love reading the notes on special occasions. Another cherished tradition is greeting our neighbors’ kids every morning as they head to school—a simple gesture that reminds us of the importance of connection and community.

Our Cultural Heritage

Our family is a beautiful blend of cultures—Ang was born in China, and Ozan was born in Turkey. We met while pursuing higher education in the U.S., and from the moment we connected, we knew we had found something special. Our bond grew stronger over time, and we were married in 2015. Our family represents a unique mix of Chinese and Turkish heritage, with English as the common thread that connects us to the world.
We have enjoyed formal education and have seen firsthand how it opens doors and creates possibilities. Curious mindsets brought us to the U.S., and we’re committed to passing that curiosity on to a child, encouraging them to explore new ideas and never stop learning. For us, education is not just about books, it fosters an open mind and a sense of wonder.
As an international family, we pride ourselves on being adaptable and open-minded. Above all, we cherish the moments we share, balancing work and fun, supporting each other, and dreaming big. We know that love, curiosity, and understanding will guide us, and together, there’s no limit to what we can achieve.
Why We Chose Adoption
Extending our family has always been our greatest dream, and over time we have come to believe that adoption is the path we are meant to walk together. Our journey to parenthood has included both hope and loss. After facing infertility, we were blessed to conceive, but complications led to losing our baby far too soon. While heartbreaking, this experience deepened our desire to love and raise a child with intention, gratitude, and compassion.
Adoption feels both meaningful and familiar to us. We have been fortunate to see close friends grow their families through adoption, and their experiences showed us that families are formed through love, connection, and commitment, no matter how they come together. It helped us recognize adoption as a truly special and purposeful way to build our family. We believe families come in many beautiful forms, and what matters most is the love and care within them. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to grow our family through adoption and to create a home filled with warmth, belonging, and respect.
As we look to the future, we are filled with hope for the chance to welcome a child into our hearts and home. We are ready to embrace both the challenges and joys ahead with patience, openness, and love. Adoption is not just a way to grow our family, it is a chance to create lasting connections and offer a child unwavering love and support.

Our Extended Families

Extended family is a cherished and meaningful part of Ang and Ozan’s lives, offering a strong circle of love that spans cultures and continents. Ang’s parents, now retired and living in China, and Ozan’s parents, also retired and living in Turkey, remain closely involved through frequent calls filled with laughter, advice, and encouragement. When family gathers, either in person or across time zones, time is often spent sharing and telling stories that everyone knows by heart.

In addition, Ozan has two younger twin sisters, one living in the United States and the other in Germany, both passionately engaged in research within their respective fields. Though geographically dispersed, our extended family remains closely connected through frequent communication, mutual support, and shared traditions. Together, we form a global family network grounded in respect, curiosity, and love, ready to welcome a child with open hearts and a strong sense of belonging.
Our House and Neighborhood
Welcome to our home, located in a vibrant Maryland neighborhood, just 30 minutes from Washington, D.C. We enjoy a peaceful retreat surrounded by a rich blend of cultures, nature, and community—offering the perfect balance of tranquility and city excitement.
Our home is a sanctuary, a cozy space filled with comfort and warmth. With three bedrooms, each offering a peaceful escape, the heart of our home is the loft on the top floor, our little retreat. It’s not just the spaces that make it special; it’s the moments we’ve shared, laughter around the dinner table, the warmth of the Christmas tree, and quiet evening conversations. Every corner is filled with the warmth of connection and belonging.
Our neighborhood is a welcoming mix of traditions, languages, and cuisines, creating a sense of belonging where neighbors greet each other warmly. The community’s rhythm makes it feel like home. We're also part of a top-ranked public school system, where dedicated teachers focus on providing a high-quality education, preparing every student for success.
The area is child-friendly, with numerous activities and spaces for young ones. Local playgrounds, family-friendly festivals, and outdoor movie nights keep kids engaged. Nearby swimming pools, tennis courts, and expansive green spaces offer fun for the whole family. It’s a place where families can grow and make lasting memories.
Living here provides the perfect balance of nature and city life, with our home surrounded by greenery, yet close to Washington, D.C., and its Smithsonian museums, cultural landmarks, and Embassy Open Houses.
From Us to You

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our letter and for considering us as potential parents for your child. We know this is a deeply personal and life-changing decision, and we truly honor the strength, courage, and love it takes to make it. We are grateful for the opportunity to share a little about who we are and what is in our hearts.
We have been happily married for ten years, and our relationship is built on mutual respect, compassion, and a strong sense of partnership. From the beginning, we connected over shared values and a belief in supporting one another through both life’s joys and challenges. Together, we have built a home filled with love, laughter, and resilience.
Our journey toward parenthood has been shaped by both hope and heartbreak. After facing infertility, we were grateful to conceive, but complications led to a very early delivery, and we had to say goodbye to our baby much too soon. While this experience was incredibly difficult, it also profoundly deepened our appreciation for life, family, and the gift of being parents. It clarified for us how deeply we wish to open our hearts and home to a child, and how committed we are to nurturing a family built on love, patience, and understanding.
Ang works as a student advisor, supporting students from around the world as they pursue their educational goals. She loves building connections, offering encouragement, and helping others feel supported during important transitions in their lives.
Ozan is a scientist working in data science and artificial intelligence, with a focus on improving human health. He enjoys problem-solving, collaboration, and using his skills to make a positive impact. He brings thoughtfulness, curiosity, and steadiness into both his work and our family life.
To us, adoption is about love, respect, and connection. If you are open to it, we would be honored to stay connected in ways that feel comfortable for you. We want you to always know how deeply grateful we are and how important you are to your child’s story.
We have seen close friends grow their families through adoption, and their experiences have shown us how beautiful and meaningful this path can be. It has strengthened our belief that families are formed in many ways, and that love is what truly makes a family whole. We feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to grow our family through adoption and to offer a child a home filled with warmth, stability, and unconditional love.
As the child grows, we promise to speak about their adoption with honesty, pride, and love. They will know where they come from and that your decision was made out of deep care and selflessness. You will always be spoken of with respect and gratitude in our home.
We hold you in our hearts as you make the decision that feels right for you and your child. Thank you again for considering us and for allowing us to share our story with you.
With warmth and appreciation,
Ozan & Ang
